Carnival
Crackling and buzzing,
Above my head like insects,
Like popcorn,
Smoldering ashes,
Waiting for the rush to come,
The scent of a charred heart,
Carried by the wind,
Lingers in the breeze,
A million little loves burst,
Like firecrackers,
Like roses,
Nearly cinged, I still breathe,
The heat remains,
And though the insects swarm away,
I hear the buzz,
I recall the rythym of the winds,
I feel the fire,
I smell the popcorn,
Like the carnival,
Like that roller coaster,
I ride away,
